If you use any kind of ocean observation ranging from the marine forecast to water quality in an estuary, you should become involved in MACOORA.
Why? The main reason is that MACOORA is a way to get better forecasts or more water quality measurements. For example, did you know that there were no measurements of waves off our coast until MACOORA set that as a high priority and NDBC responded?
As a member, you can be an integral part of coastal ocean observing, which benefits biological ecosystems, sustainable living resources, public health, and national security.
We'd like to hear from you. . .tell us what interests you or your organization. Even if you're not ready to join, MACOORA is always changing and looking for opportunities to improve and become a better, more involved and more focused institution.
